Something Big and Marvelous

This morning, I drive up the East Coast for a 10-day visit to the mid Atlantic. Long drives are one of my absolute favorite things, far preferable to sitting in a cramped, stale flying box with 100 other agitated people and several dozen women reading Fifty Shades of Grey on their iPads. I’ll be alone for the drive back to Florida, a chance for perfect music and blissful solitude, with the hours-long melancholic dives into one’s thoughts that such solo trips guarantee.
I don’t think I’ll have the opportunity to blog while I’m gone, but I will be tweeting and instagramming. Maybe even pinning and tumbling. Just not blogging. But you’re used to that.
“You know, nights when you and the moon and the water all become one. You feel you’re part of something big and marvelous.” -Clark Gable as Peter Warne in It Happened One Night, a wonderful road trip movie.
